Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and book or buy something, I may receive a small commission.

It never costs you anything extra. The price you pay is the same whether you use my link or go direct.

What that means in practice

I use affiliate links in two ways:

  • Some links are managed through Skimlinks, which automatically connects certain retailer and travel links to their affiliate programs.
  • Some resort and booking links go through the host agency I book through as a travel advisor.

When I recommend a resort, an Airbnb or a piece of gear, it is because we stayed there, used it, or I have researched it for a client. A commission never decides what goes on this site. If somewhere was not worth the money, I say so.

Where my money actually comes from

Most of my income is commission paid by travel suppliers when I book a trip for a family. That service is free to you: you pay the supplier the same rate you would pay booking it yourself, and they pay me for the work.

Affiliate links are a smaller part of it, and they exist for readers who would rather book independently.

Questions

If you ever want to know whether a specific link is an affiliate link, just ask. I am happy to tell you.
